Is he trying to drop hints or just being nice?

Ok so this guy that sit in front of me in english cl picked up my paper. But the thing is I kinda caught him looking back at me a couple times during cl, and he told me srry for his chair going into my desk. Then when I dropped my paper I had put my foot on it, scooted it to the side of my desk. Then he picked it up for me. Then he had turned around to see which page we were on and he never looks at my paper.But then today, I tapped him on the shoulder asked him if he went to the same middle school and as me he said yeah, and I was like oh I remember you! And he said yeah and laughedIts probably nothing,but does it mean anything at all?
