Please explain the process how an international student,get admitted to a good college in USA for engineering?

I live in India,and just completed my school finals(12th grade).I want to persue engineering in USA(preferably Aerospace or Aeronautical).PLEASE tell how this can be done,what tests (like SAT , TOEFL) do I have to take.And how much time does the entire process take,cause I don't want to waste my time sitting at home. I have no idea how this SAT works,so please help me!
